Other questions you may have

Why does the Siemens PLM Software FTP site report me as coming from a different IP address than my system's actual IP address?

There could be several reasons why your system's IP address does not match what our FTP server sees as your IP address:
Your company may use NAT (Network Address Translation).
You will recognize this because your system's IP address will have the numbers 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x to 172.31.x.x.

If this is the case, your IP address is not visible from the Internet thus your company must have a router that is used to access the Internet. The router IP address will be seen by our FTP server. This is the address you should register.

Your company uses a Proxy Server.
If your company has a Proxy Server, then you should be accessing the Siemens PLM Software FTP site through your proxy. The IP address seen by our FTP server will usually be the address of this proxy server. This is the address you should register.

If your company has multiple Proxy Servers, then you can register the IP address for all the Proxy Servers.

Contact your company's Network Administrator to determine if you have a proxy server, and how to use it to access our FTP site on the Internet.

Your company uses DHCP but provides you with an IP address that is routable through the Internet.
In this case, you should work with your company's Network Administrator to either provide you with a static IP address, or they can set up a proxy server for you to access the Internet through a fixed address.

Contact your company's Network Administrator to determine if you have a proxy server, and how to use it to access our FTP site on the Internet.

I have a Cable/DSL provider that uses DHCP. What do I do?

Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will provide a dedicated (Static) IP address for business purposes. Contact your ISP and discuss how you can obtain this level of service.

How do I change my registered IP address?

If you need to change your registered IP address, or you want to register additional IP addresses, you will need to contact your Customer Service Representative, CSR. You can contact your CSR by calling your local office or in the US and Canada call 1-800-955-0000 and select Option 1, 1 from the main menu.

Can I register more than one IP address?

Yes, you can register more than one IP address.
